about

"When we hear music, we tend to focus on the melody's context, but strip the beats and focus on the lyrical concepts, sending messages embedded in the content of words…." - Ekho

Music ['myoo-zik] - The Rhythmic Expression of Emotion, Artistically, through Sound.

Many present day listeners are misguided in the direction of measuring the talent of MCs by means outside of their craft. These young minds tend to forget the true units of measurement that makes a great MC. The ability of an MC to craft words together around an idea, in such a fashion that imagery is vividly displayed in the minds, and emotion is richly evoked in the hearts of the listeners is a gift unparalleled.

The entities of lyricism and conceptualism are separately compelling, although the cooperation of the pair is undeniable. Here we give you that coalition in this 18-track, two year project from the bottom of our hearts. We had a lot of fun with the making of this project. We hope to positively influence each and every listener in some form or fashion, minute or massive. If only one of you is positively effected by our music and efforts, we will be satisfied. Thank you for lending us your ears, as well as your time and insight, which shall remain greatly appreciated. Peace and much love, L.

All of these talented individuals contributed to this project somehow, someway. Much thanks and admiration to all of you:

Mom, for always supporting us 115% during every step of the way. From driving us to shows, and buying me new outfits to perform in, to providing an environment where creativity is encouraged, we love you. It's coming back to you soon.

Ekho, for coming through in the clutch for the Intro, and putting what I felt into words so perfectly.

Ryan Easter, for being a friend, as well as a true lover of music, and mastering the entire project, AND for producing the music for the outro.

Octavion and Cain, for showing the youngin's respect and helping us to put the Release Show together, AND for showing us appreciation for talent by cosigning us in the city.

Mike Hews, for stepping to the plate and killing your verse in H.A.M with us for the first time on stage.

Kendall, for adding your talents on "Grace."

Los, for providing that needed spark of inspiration and push we needed to get the project completely done.

The whole MakingYouThink family, for showing out at the shows, and helping us to create the MYT lifestyle.

Brandon, for the main shot we used for the cover art.

All of the producers who contributed to this project.

Everyone who has supported us from the beginning, and those who supported along the way!

The Man Upstairs, for always answering our prayers when we didn't know where to go or who to turn to.

Last but certainly not least, YOU! The listeners and supporters of our movement. None of this would be worth it without you. THANK YOU.

With love, from Lyrix & Koncept.
